The Community Security Group (CSG) is a team of volunteers working to keep the people and property of the Jewish community safe and secure. The CSG works closely with local law enforcement authorities and other community groups - as do similar groups in Jewish communities in Australia and the United Kingdom.

The local CSG draws members from both congregations in Wellington who train and operate together (especially at large or joint community events). Within the local CSG there is a team made up of members of the orthodox community whose primary focus is on safety and security of the Wellington Jewish Community Centre and its users.
